Kwara State Fuel Scarcity: Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed Visits Petrol Stations in Kwara

IN another move to further strengthen the
monitoring activities on fuel scarcity lingering in
Ilorin metropolis, the Kwara State governor, Alhaji
Abdulfatah Ahmed on Tuesday evening, paid an
unscheduled visit to major petrol stations.
During the visit, the governor assured the people
of speedy end of the scarcity as he warned petrol
station owners against hoarding petroleum
products to create scarcity and cause hardship in
the state.

The Kwara State Government had recently
constituted a joint task monitoring committee
made up of representatives of the Department of
Petroleum Resources, DPR, the Nigerian National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the
government to check the menace of fuel scarcity
that has been ravaging within the state capital.

The monitoring committee had therefore, begun
move to check the lingering fuel crisis.
The new Operation Controller of the Department
of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Mr Salvation Philip
who led the monitoring team to many filling
stations within Ilorin frowned at what he
described as under dispensing of fuel.
